Time: 6:30pm gather, 7:00pm GO

Start Address: Magazine St. at Exposition Blvd. Audubon Park

Hare: YMBJ

Beer Hare: Whirl n Hurl n Hurl n Whirl

Pre-Lube: Monkey Hill Bar 6100 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70118

On-After: Monkey Hill Bar 6100 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70118

Trail Deets:
Happy Birthday, America on the brink of civil war, on the brink of global war. And yet, we gather. To walk, to wander, to remember what peace felt like. How did we get here? Somewhere between the drone strikes, corporate corruption, political goonery, and the dream deferred. But peace and love must prevail. Wear your best anti-war movement fare: tie-dye, flower crowns, and buttons featuring your generational villain of choice. Expect music in the distance, peace signs held high, the soft hum of surveillance overhead, and other classic Fourth of July pastimes, draft dodging (through actual drafts), impromptu poetry readings no one asked for, and fireworks of questionable legality and undeniable feeling. Come rally with us, not in celebration, but in defiance, in memory, in hope.

Dog-Friendly: Yes although it’ll be hot. They too deserve to question the moral arc of the nation.

Dry Bag/Shiggy Gear:
If you fear water or mud, ask yourself: did our hip and rebellious ancestors pack Gore-Tex? Bring what your spirit animal tells you. You may get wet. You may get woke. You may just get lost.

Trail Length: 2.8 miles
