Trail #830: Requiem for the Goth Moth

Roughly one year ago, a mysterious moth joined the Voodoo for our goth trail. Escorted by Delayed Gratification, the moth not only completed the entire trail but also stayed for Circle. We were so inspired by its presence and overtaken by the gothness of the night that we held possibly the only naming of a moth in hash history, and Just Moth became known forevermore as Gothra. Gothra couldn’t do a down-down because it was a sphinx moth and sphinx moths don’t have mouths, but we sang for it just the same. At the end of the night, Delayed Gratification left it safe in a tree. It was “lost on trail” very soon after because again, it didn’t have a mouth. Gothra was the gothest moth.

So, this week, we run in honor of Gothra’s memory. Gothra, who really should have been spending its approximately two-week lifespan trying to bone another moth, chose instead to spend a few precious hours on trail. If that’s not a hasher, I don’t know what is.
The dress code is goth, or moth, or goth moth. We encourage you to take photos with any creatures you find on trail (living or art), especially moths, for the ‘gram (@voodooh3). Also, for no reason, don’t worry about it, your co-hare casually asks that any sightings of nocturnal birds be reported to him immediately.
